Here but not here
After several artistic collaborations with people in prison, Thomas is embarking on a long-term research project exploring criminal justice and the punishment industry. The title, Here but Not Here, comes from a quote by one of the incarcerated scriptwriters of the opera Barzakh.
“I tell you, I’m not here. I’m not really here. My body is here. I’m not here.”
